I do not know about you but weekends make the work week SO MUCH HARDER! This weekend was incredible, we spent it as a family and got out of town, not to mention the weather was great!
You have probably heard but the weather we have been having was CrAzY!!! One day it was 65, the next storms and tornadoes (we were safe but there are so many towns around us who were hit), a huge snow storm (the first of the year), then 50's and freezing, and the weekend :o) was 60's and sunny!
So back to our lovely weekend! On Saturday our plan was to go hiking (sadly it was freezing) so we decided on checking out some nearby towns we have never been too. Packer came of course! We made pancakes, hung out for a bit, and then hit the road. We visited Mt.Sterling, Ky and Williamsburg, Ky (I think). We walked around the downtowns, ate some local food, and just enjoyed some much needed down time. Later that night we got dinner at Red Robin (great gluten free place ;o) and then saw the movie John Carter (Wade Loved It!) with some free movie tickets we had (thanks Louis!) Such a busy day but it was great to relax and enjoy the places around us.
On Sunday (things have been changing a lot and after lots of prayer Wade and I have felt led to start attending the church that is closer to us, so it meets at night). When I woke up the weather was amazing so Wade suggested we go hiking since we could not on Saturday. GREAT IDEA! We packed up the car, packer, and we hit the road. We headed to Berea (it was the first hiking place Wade took me in Kentucky in October 2010) we thought it was a great first hike for Packer! He LOVED it! We went hiking all day, must have been at least 5 miles. Ate a great lunch in Berea (such a cute, quint little town). Then we headed home quickly just in time for church, and once church was over we had Hilary and John over for game night!
An amazing weekend and we loved every minute of it, just wish weekends could be longer!
